Valmorel is the purpose built ski resort with all the right ingredients. Valmorel was intended to look and feel like a mountain village offering the visitor a traffic free environment styled in Savoie stone and wood materials throughout. The result is an attractive, friendly environment for the visiting skier. There is easy access to the ski areas. The ski area is large, by most standards though it can't rival its huge neighbours, the Trois Vallees or Val-d'Isere Tignes. But with good snow conditions and the whole system open, there's enough skiing to keep most grades of skier except experts happy. As the snow conditions deteriorate, the variety of available skiing reduces rapidly and the flaws in the lift system can start to show through.
