St Anton has, along with Wengen and Miirren, a strong British tradition. From the 19205, successive generations learned to ski here, adopting the distinctive 'feet together' style of the famous Arlberg ski school. Sir Arnold Lunn helped start the Kandahar race here in 1928. The resort has remained popular with good skiers. It has also become one of the world's skiing Meccas. That's a reflection of the wonderful, tough skiing available in the bowls below the Valluga - the best that Austria has to offer. These are now all off-piste. In good snow conditions they are superb. And if you are lucky with the snow you'll have the time of your life. There's a lot to offer adventurous intermediate skiers too. As well as the generally challenging St Anton pistes, there is all the skiing of Lech and Ziirs to explore, a short bus-ride away.
