Arinsal Pas de la Casa Soldeu
Andorra's snow reliability should not be underestimated. A combination of height and heavy investment in snowmakers puts it well ahead of much of Austria. You can book Andorra months in advance with some confidence. And an early reservation is necessary, too: late bookers can have difficulty finding an Andorra package. However, two of the apparently crucial elements of Andorra's success - good value and nightlife - do not stand up too well under the microscope. Prices are low once you arrive, notably for drinks and ski extras such as tuition and equipment hire.
Although lift passes are cheap, you have to remember they access pretty limited ski areas of the kind that come quite cheap in supposedly more expensive countries. For example, the French purpose-built resort of Valfrejus has skiing that compares favourably with anything in Andorra, yet it costs only a few pounds more.
For nightlife, it certainly is very lively, with lots of throbbing bars; but if you get bored with bar-hopping there's little else.
