Holiday rentals in Scotland book direct PDF Print E-mail

Scotland is a region in northwest Europe and a part of the United Kingdom the area occupies the northern third of the British island, shares a land border to the south with England, and is bounded by the North Sea to the east, the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west, and the North Channel and Irish Sea to the south-west.

The climate of Scotland is temperate and oceanic, and tends to be very changeable. It is warmed by the Gulf Stream from the Atlantic, and as such has much milder winters (but cooler, wetter summers) than areas on similar latitudes, for example Labrador, Canada. Temperatures are generally lower than in the rest of the UK.

Apart from the mainland, Scotland consists of over 790 islands. Scotland is a very popular destination and rightly so with an incredibly diverse landscape from the lowlands to the highlands, even if the weather is not at its best there is so much to do and see.

Its easy to visit Scotland with international airports offering easy access to all areas and motorways accessing all areas.
