Rojales is a typical Spanish town with a variety of shops, restaurants, tapas bars, cafes, banks and pubs including English bars, and three large supermarkets. A typical Spanish agriculture village with the river Segura flowing through the centre of Rojales this is a lovely place to spend a few hours in the evening and where many of the locals spend their spare time with the family.
In the town centre there is a very pretty church, a local museum and a lovely village square where you can sit & watch the world go by. Rojales comes alive on Thursday mornings with the market held beside the river in the town centre. People come from everywhere to get their fresh vegetables and the many bargains that are obtainable there. There is a road of very lively discos in Rojales.
There are two main airports, El Altet near to Alicante and San Javier (Murcia) a little further down the coast towards Los Alcazares. The majority of visitors still arrive via Alicante but San Javier is becoming more popular and low-cost airlines now have regular flights there.
The Costa Blanca is well known for a very mild climate enjoying over 320 days of sunshine throughout the year.
