Les Menuires' has good access to the Trois Vallees skiing. With 200 lifts and 6ookm of pistes plus endless off-piste possibilities, no keen skier will be bored in a fortnight here. Local skiing on La Masse is some of the best in the Trois Vallees for good skiers, with usually excellent snow. Many Courchevel- and Meribel-based skiers overlook it because it is set apart from the main circuit. If you want to stay in a quiet, traditional Savoyard village, nearby St-Martin-de-Belleville is worth considering as a base.
Les Menuires' skiing has two main attractions: La Masse, and the swift links to the skiing of the rest of the Trois Vallee. It suits all standards except complete beginners. But local skiing for intermediates and beginners is spoilt by the orientation of the main slopes, which get the full force of the afternoon sun; despite considerable artificial snowmaking, they can be icy early in the day and heavy later.
Part of the biggest linked ski area inthe world
Some great local skiing for goodskiers
Swift access to both the Meribeland Val-Thorens ski areas
You can ski directly to and fromnearly all accommodation
Extensive artificial snow facilitiesmean snow-cover rarely a problem
Probably the cheapest place to stay in the Trois Vallees area
