Playa Blanca once a small fishing village has now become a holiday resort with a great variety of holiday accommodation from luxury hotels to wonderful villas of all shapes and sizes. Playa Blanca has a ferry terminal with the main operator Fred Olsen providing a scheduled service to Fuerteventura & there are also services to Arrecife and an assortment of pleasure trips.

Local attractions include The green lake at El Golfo and what was once one off the main incomes for the Island the salt flats. Playa Blanca does have a small man made beach which is protected by breakers making it suitable for families, but please be aware that the offshore breeze can be strong & sudden.

The town has retained some of its fishing village charm with restaurants along the promenade serving locally caught fish, you will find that Playa Blanca now provides for most holiday needs including banks shops etc.

From Playa Blanca you can walk along the coast to Papagayo where you will find several bays with nice beaches offering protection from the weather. This is a nice area to snorkel with its abundance of colourful fish. Please note that Papagayo is also a naturist area for nude sunbathing.
