The 70m, centrally heated property shares a private garden of 1,600m with the owners. The mature trees offer summertime shade as well as an exciting area for children to play in. You can cool down in the swimming pool and then enjoy a drink in the bar/barbeque area. If you feel like a stroll, the beautiful Navacerrada reservoir is close at hand, or why not soak up the sun on the terrace of one of the local restaurants. Once the children are in bed, if you don’t feel like enjoying the last of the evening’s heat in the garden, you can relax inside with a film or music as the property is equipped with both DVD player and stereo.
Feel like venturing further a field, beautiful forest mountain trails are only a stone's throw away. The mountain range also claims two natural swimming areas, winter skiing, wonderful picnic areas and plenty of other beautiful villages. Theatres, museums, zoos, a Warner Brothers Park, a funfair and of course the fantastic shopping and nightlife of Madrid are easily accessed by car or by express bus. The historical towns of Segovia, Toledo, Salamanca, El Escorial and Avila are comfortable day trips away, while you may prefer mountain biking, horse riding or trekking in the surrounding area.
Children are warmly welcomed, with a wide range of children’s toys and equipment (car seats, pushchair, cot) available on request. For longer summer stays, the local sport centre offers superb, reasonably priced, sports lessons for children and adults alike. Babysitting and airport pickup can be arranged by the owners at additional cost.
Becerril is a quiet lazy mountain village, a popular holiday and weekend retreat for Madrileños, who want to enjoy the mountain views, clean air and relaxing pace that the village offers. There are numerous restaurants and bars in the village, as well as a cultural centre boasting theatrical performances, films, a library and internet access, and a sport centre which offers short sports, outdoor activities and gym courses for children and adults alike during the summer period.
The surrounding mountains and national parks offer a plethora of activities from trekking and mountain biking, to bird watching and fishing. If all that mountain air is getting too much, approx 10 km away in Villalba, 2 multi-screen cinemas, an ice rink, fast food restaurants, night clubs and high street shops, might be enough to sort you out. If not Madrid is an easy drive or express bus ride away. The Valley of the Fallen, the monastery and royal park of El Escorial, the castle of Manzanares de Real are all less than a 30 min drive away. Day trips can be made to the university town of Salamanca, the walled city of Avila, the castle and cathedral of Segovia and the historical city of Toledo, to name but a few.
With ski slopes just a 20 min drive away and the village fiesta in September, Becerril and the surrounding area offers year round enjoyment and activities to suit everybody.
