The Apartment consists of: Master bedroom with double bed and French doors onto the balcony. Bedroom 2 has twin beds. The lounge has a double sofa bed and French doors onto the balcony. The shower room has a wash basin, toilet and a large walk-in shower. All towels and linen are provided (for indoor use only). There is a fully fitted kitchen/dining room with washing machine, oven/hob, fridge, kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board. All crockery and utensils are provided. Outside there is a large tiled south facing terrace with table, 4 chairs, large parasol and BBQ.
Bácor is a small typically Spanish village with its white washed houses and caves. The village has 3 grocery shops, fishmongers, butchers, bakers (fresh bread delivered to your door), hairdressers and a bar. There is a small chemist and doctors surgery, post office and a small market on Sundays. In the town hall there is free internet access Mon. – Fri. 10am – 2pm.
Bácor is a perfect place for a relaxing holiday where you can enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surroundings but also visit the vast amount of tourist attractions locally.
Lake Negratin is only ten minutes from the apartment, it has a man made cobbled beach and is a lovely location for sunbathing, swimming and fishing (permits needed, email for further info.). In the summer months you can hire pedaloes for as little as €5 for one hour (max. 3 people). There is an on-site bar which sells drinks and ice creams or you can try the ¨Menu del Dia¨ (menu of the day) for only €7.50 per person, this consists of 3 courses, bread and wine.
There are many outdoor swimming pools locally which are open from June – September, approx. midday – 8.00pm and cost from €2 per person, many of these have sunbathing and picnic areas and a Bar.
For a more relaxing soak there are the thermal springs in Zujar, A pool with naturally warm spring water supposedly to have natural healing powers. The pool overlooks the lake with wonderful views, there is a round bar/restaurant above built into the mountain. This is only 20 minutes away from Bácor.
Also ten minutes away is the Sierra de Baza national park, with its stunning views and walks. In the heart of the park there is a restaurant/bar with an activity centre for outdoor pursuits.
The troglodyte village of Purullena is only a 20 minute drive, so called for its vast amount of cave dwellings. The village has a cave museum which is a an interesting visit for only €2 per person. There are a lot of tourist shops selling locally produced pottery, bars and restaurants.
The Towns of Baza and Guadix are 20 minutes away both with historical and architectural interest, many shops and bars/restaurants.
Granada City is an hour from Bácor and also has many architectural churches and buildings including the famous Alhambra Palace. There are lots of shops, Bars and Restaurants that you would expect from a large town. You can also visit the water park in Granada, for more info. log on to (www.granadamap.com/aquaola/index.htm) or there is a Science museum with interactive hands on gadgets for the kids (or the big kids) (www.parqueciencias.com/eng/). In the winter months you can ski on the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
