Holiday in Moulin des Chauteix watermill in the Auvergne...
The millers house is for rent for a maximum of four people.
It has two bedrooms (one double and one twin), kitchen with microwave and oven, bathroom, washingmachine, tv + video with a selection of films for all ages, fire place and all the conveniences you need for the perfect holiday!
The top two floors of the mill have been renovated into a gite for a maximum of 7 people.
There is a wonderful spacious living area with open kitchen downstairs. The dining table is built around one of the mills old mechanisms, which was used to collect the flour in sacks ready to go to the local bakery. On the top floor you'll find 4 bedrooms, two double rooms , one twin room and one single room. There is a bathroom with shower and toilet and a small room with the washing machine.
Also on this floor you'll find many old features of the mill, all the old wheels are still hanging in the top of the roof.
There is one big terrace which is sheared with guests from the mill, besides that we have created various places to sit and relax. Lie in the hammock along the river to read a book in the shade, sit in the sun on the terrace with a view over the valley and enjoy a glass of french wine and a barbeque!
The nearest village is less than 5 minutes drive where you can get a nice fresh baguette there is also a small shop, butcher and a bar with a restaurant. In the bigger village of St Gervais d'Auvergne you'll find a small supermarket, bank, tourist information and a selection of bars and restaurants.
