FRANCE A few more resorts in France opened over the Christmas week meaning nearly all the reported resorts are now open. Chatel (10/30cm), Le Grand Bornand (6/20cm), Notre Dame de Bellecombe (5/30cm), Val Cenis (30/60cm) and Villard de Lans (15/35cm) all opened over the last week with reasonable conditions at most resorts. The colder weather has kept artificial snow making in progress and many resorts have opened more lifts giving access to a wider skiing domain. At Chamonix (10/110cm) over 20 lifts have been opened, increasing the number of lifts in operation from 8 to 28. La Tania (15/35cm) opened 18 more lifts giving access to 54 runs. The Paradiski link at Les Arcs (10/60cm) and La Plagne (40/45) is also now open. There are good ski conditions throughout both resorts. Despite no recent snowfall, most French resorts are skiing well.
