Recently, Larnaca has become a relaxed resort with a palm-fringed promenade, many restaurants, pubs, discos and nightclubs, miles of sandy beaches and an extensive yacht marina and an interesting camel park. Worth visiting are the church of St Lazarus, the shimmering salt lake, the Tekke and Stavrovouni Monastery and Kiti Church where a unique 5th/6th Century mosaic can be seen. An ideal base, with Nicosia, Limassol, Protaras and Ayia Napa all within an hour’s drive.
