Calvados is boarded by Eure, Manche, Orne, and Seine-Maritime with the River Seine and the Baie de Seine part of the English Channel in the north here you will find the apple brandy which takes 10 litres of cider to produce one litre of distilled Calvados which means this region is dominated by apple orchids the towns and villages here are picturesque  this is a big draw for tourists from across Europe.

The Vieux Basin has yachts that now replace the smugglers’ boats, every summer you can find the cafés and upmarket restaurants are very popular and very busy, many holidaymakers visit the town of Trouville with its winding back streets, cafes and restaurants, opposite Trouville is the  seaside resort of Deauville on the Côte Fleurie, it is a popular destination for the rich and famous and well known for its extravagance, here you will find a spectacular racecourse, alluring casino and plenty of luxury hotels. If you enjoy walking, taking trips the town of Honfleur has a picturesque harbour full of customs and culture it is a favourite haunt of artists and tourists, Drive over the enormous Pont de Normandy to reach Le Havre and Ste Adresse here you will find large sandy beaches and all the water sports that are on offer for all levels of ability and age group. Caen is a good base to explore the D-day Landing Beaches.
